Took a little trip on July 4th. over the front range
and up in the 15,000 foot peaks. There was a lot of snow still about 12,000 in the high meadows at the tree line. I did find
some Elk and was a little surprised that their antlers were as developed as they were. The two bulls in the second picture
are nice 6x6 bulls. I will have to make a trip back in the fall with the .338 Winchester Magnum.
It seems strange to be above the clouds and still in a car rather than
a plane. The temperature when I got there at 10 in the morning was a balmy 33 degrees.
Yeah, those white patches are snow and yes, it is
July 4th. It is a different world when you start going up.
